WHAT IS PROFHILO®?

Profhilo® is different from other dermal fillers despite being injectable. It is made of 100% Hyaluronic Acid, which bio-models your skin to treat its laxity. It is perfect for dull, tired, ageing skin that is in desperate need of a burst of vitality. From the age of 30, our skin begins to lose precious vitamins and proteins that keep our skin firm and youthful. Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid (HA) are lost as we get older, causing the skin to wrinkle, sag and fold. WHERE CAN PROFHILO® BE USED?

Profhilo® is most commonly used for facial areas, but can also effectively be used for revitalising the neck, décolletage, arms, knees and back of hands. Recently, the neck is becoming a popular area to have Profhilo®, due to its ability to help reduce crepe-like skin and sagginess, and stimulate a firmer, younger appearance.

WHO IS THE PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR THIS PROCEDURE?

The clinically approved treatment is ideal for individuals suffering from the following: 

• Wrinkles (e.g smokers lines, frown lines, crows feet)

• Saggy and excess skin

• Dry, dehydrated skin 

• Skin that has lost elasticity and shape

Since Profhilo® is an injection that mimics the body’s production of Hyaluronic Acid, the treatments are far more subtle than other dermal fillers which create a more dramatic change and lift. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PROFHILO® AND DERMAL FILLERS?

Due to the way that Profhilo® is formulated, it is not a volumising treatment in the same way that dermal fillers are, and is not used to enhance specific areas of the face (e.g. lips, cheeks, chin).  Profhilo® is primarily a hydrating treatment, and the Hyaluronic Acid it contains is dispersed throughout your skin tissue. The remodelling substance itself it far less thick than that of dermal fillers and it spreads throughout the face, giving your skin a deeply hydrated and firm complexion, and more youthful and rejuvenated look. For this reason, Profhilo® offers a more subtle alternative to dermal fillers.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

The results from Profhilo® treatments will most often last for up to six months, but results can differ from person to person.

​

To achieve the best long-lasting results, two treatments are recommended with a four week interval. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcomes of the treatment will be visible four weeks after the second treatment. Results will last for as long as you continue to have the bi-annually treatment. Profhilo® delivers great results on its own or in combination with other aesthetic treatments.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

​

Before we begin injecting, we will mark up the points to be injected, which is typically 5 separate injections points on each side of your face. If you are having the treatment injected to other body parts such as your neck, the procedure will be similar. We do not routinely apply numbing cream for Profhilo® treatment as the injections points are given superficially and pain should not be an issue. However a numbing cream can be applied if preferred.
